I just wanted to thank everyone for all the help I received in this weekend’s tournament. I think Chuck blasting out the e-mails increased participation in this event tremendously and hopefully we can continue to build participation as the year moves forward. Ellis was a huge help as always to me the morning of the event with the scorecards and announcements. Below are the results:

2013 Men's Golf Association Membership Drive & Events

The Men's Golf Association is a self sustaining organization that strives to provide our members with a fun, competitive environment. We are a club within a club.

MGA has a separate budget and board of officers from Riverland's Country Club. We pay tournament entry fees to the club and are a not-for-profit organization. When MGA has a surplus of money after entry fees are paid and prizes are distributed, we help fund projects that will help improve and sustain the Riverlands Country Club.

Events schedule for the 1st 4 months of 2013 for your pleasure:

January 31, 2013 – Elections for the Board of RG&CC.

February 3, 2013 – Pro Shop Invitational – A,B,C&D Super Bowl tournament 9 am Shotgun $35 entry fee ($10 Breakfast, $20 Prizes, $5 MGA)

Teams will be computer pick – the is an Open Tournament for all members of Riverlands. (Mulligans was not discussed, but we should for the course Chemicals)

March 23, 2013 – 2 Man Best Ball Tournament – 100% Handicap – MGA Event $35 entry fee ($10 for food, $5 MGA, $20 Prizes) 9 AM Shotgun.

April 20, 2012 – Devils Delight Crawfish Tournament – 4 MAN team - 6 holes best ball, 6 holes,-2 best balls, 6 holes- 3 best balls. MGA Event cost depend on the prices of Crawfish.

May 17,18 & 19 - Riverlands Member/Guest Golf Tournament – Seafood Delight!

 Riverland's MGA Points:

Another new event that will be tracked during the golf season will be the Riverland's MGA Points.

Point will be awarded during the golf season on specific tournaments.

The points are as follow: 200 pts. first, 150 pts., 2nd, 125 pts. 3rd, 100 pts. fourth, 75 pts., 5th all other pts., zero. Everyone will get 50 pts. for participation for each event. 

We will give extra points for the following tournaments.

100 pts. extra points will be given to the Member/Guest, Match Play, and Member/Member tournaments participation.

Players will be ranked based on their total points earn. The top 10 point earners will be invited to a special party at the end of the MGA Season.I will work with Rob to make sure we track and post in the BAR, Pro Shop and the MGA website.

We’ll send out email blast for all events.

 The next meeting will be the 29 January 2013 to finalize the Super Bowl Open Scramble.

February Season Opener

Teams are still registering, we had over 25 Wednesday.  Please come by the pro shop to sign in!  Mr. Jimmy will be cooking Chicken Spaghetti for everyone to enjoy, and we have recieved a generous donation of a G20 driver which we will raffle for $5 a ticket.  We will also be selling mulligans for $5 a ticket.  100% of the proceeds from both the raffle and mulligans will go directly to the purchase of chemicals for Randy to continue improving our course.  This is one of the many small things you can do to help keep our dues down and the course in great shape!  I hope to see you all on the course!

2012 Events Calendar

I hope everyone is looking forward to the 2012 golf season at Riverlands!  The MGA Board met January 31st to start plans on our 2012 calendar.  We solidified dates through August and scoped tenative dates from September on.  Those dates will become more concrete after the football schedules are finalized.

We will open our season again with two person Best Ball Invitational event on February 26th.  This event is open to any MGA member and guest, although MGA members with little or no friends willing to tolerate 18 holes with them may play with another lonely MGA member.  The entry fee for this will again be $35 per player and we will use full handicaps for all players.  This will be a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. so we can hustle up all the late minute additions/changes/deletions that will inevitably occur Saturday evening.  We will provide a lunch after play (included in your entry fee.)
