Our next M.G.A. event will be Night Golf on Friday June 17th. This event is sponsored by the M.G.A. and is open to ALL members at Riverlands (yes, this includes ladies) please see below for the details.
When - Friday June 17th
Entry Fee - $35 your entry fee includes prizes, night golf supplies, pasta-laya dinner before play, official night golf "mai tai" drink on course, and chicken wing station on the course.
Time - Festivities kick off at 6:00 p.m. with an extreme putting challenge course and dinner, then play will start at dark on the 5 hole night golf course.
Format - A-B-C-D scramble. Teams will be randomly selected. We received a lot of positive feedback after randomly drawing the teams for the crawfish and decided that this would be a great event to again randomly draw teams. Please sign up Individually in the golf shop.
We think this will be an exciting and fun event. Please come out and have a great time.

Member Guest Week
1. Friday May 20th - Practice Rounds and Shoot-out. Please arrange a practice round time for you and your guest by getting in touch with the golf shop. The course is only open to those who are playing in the member guest. The shootout will begin at 3:00 p.m. with para-mutual betting before play. Please sign up for the shootout in the golf shop.
A jambalaya lunch will be served from 11:00 - 2:30. A special thank you to Sheriff Wayne L. Jones for donating the jambalaya lunch. We are very appreciative of his support and also for letting us borrow his tents for this weekend.
The silent auction will be going on all day in the clubhouse and we will pickup the Calcutta in the evening with the Mexican Buffet beforehand and open bar. Para-mutual betting will also be taking place on Friday evening.
2. Saturday May 21st - Play starts promptly at 9 a.m.There will be two 50/50 raffles, one for Saturday and one for Sunday. These may be purchased on the drink cart 1 for $10 or 3 for $20. You may also purchase additional chances for the PING irons at the hit the green contest on hole #2. Proceeds from this raffle will be used to buy additional chemicals for our course. $1 drinks during play.
There will also be a players pool conducted by Mr. Ellis Sampson II, please find him prior to play on Saturday Morning to enter.
Seafood Extravaganza - After Play on Saturday evening. Live music, seafood, and open bar. We will also have an extreme putting challenge. $5 per round. Low score wins a new PING putter. Proceeds will be donated to buy primo for our fairways.
3. Sunday May 22nd - Second Round starts promptly at 10 a.m. followed by a Fried Chicken lunch.

We are very excited for this year's event. We have seen an increase in participation in this event over previous years. We hope that everyone is enjoying the new direction of the M.G.A. to provide you with a fun,exciting, and challenging tournament series.

Member - Guest information
Our flagship event is now on the horizon, the Member/Guest! This is a very special year as this event celebrates Riverlands 50th Anniversary. We have an outstanding schedule of events that you can see below.
We hope that everyone will consider playing if their schedule allows. There are some people who choose not to play for reasons like : "I don't have a chance to win" or "I'm not paying $175 to play my own course when I pay to belong"
We hope that people take the stance to play for the following reasons:
1. I am proud to be a member of Riverlands and to "show off" MY CLUB and COURSE to others. Be an ambassador for Riverlands!
2. Our club needs tournaments like this in order to succeed. I think all of us who know where Riverlands is at financially can appreciate the boost an event like this brings to the club.
3. Spend quality time with a friend that you don't normally get to play with. There are many people we do not normally get to play with for 3 straight days.
4. A great value for $350 per team. I could write a novel here, however look at the list below and you will see what we mean.

Practice Round for COMPETITORS ONLY on May 20th, all day. Lagniappe Lunch included in entry fee on Friday. The alternate shot "Horse Race" will be going off at 3 p.m. Please sign up separately in the golf shop by Thursday evening. Members and Guests are invited to play. $10 entry fee.
Players gift of a PING duffel bag with the Riverlands 50th Anniversary Logo (an $85 value)
Friday 7 - 10 p.m. - Dynamic Calcutta with live bidding starting at 8 p.m. We will also have dinner, open bar, and para mutual betting. Players and Spouses only
Saturday - 9:00 a.m. shotgun start. Lunch on Course. 4:00 p.m. - Seafood Extravaganza. Featuring crawfish, shrimp, oysters, fried fish, etc.... open bar and lots of fun!! There will also be a extreme putting contest for a PING Putter.
Sunday - 9:00 a.m. shotgun start. Lunch after play.
Winning team will receive a PING Hoofer Golf Bag signifying them as "Member/Guest Champs"
Entry fee also includes a chance to win a set of PING irons! Additional chances may be purchased throughout the tournament for $10 or 3 for $20
First Hole in One on #2 will win a new E-Z-Go Cart
First Hole in One on #5 will win a New Car!!
A can't lose hit the green contest
$1 Beer, Soft Drinks, Screw Drivers and Bloody Mary's all weekend during play!!
Did I miss anything........ a lot of excitement and fun awaits!
